The CAC 40 index in Paris continued its decline on Tuesday, dropping 1.5%, and fell below the 8,000 threshold as investors reduced their risk exposure in anticipation of Nvidia’s quarterly earnings report due on Wednesday and the resumption of significant US macroeconomic reports following the conclusion of the government shutdown. Among those experiencing the steepest losses were companies like Societe Generale, Stellantis, Edenred, Legrand, Saint-Gobain, ArcelorMittal, and STMicroelectronics, each declining between 2% and 3%. Credit Agricole also saw a decrease of 1.5% following the announcement of its new strategic plan which extends to 2028. This plan, which might influence investor sentiment in the days to come, aims to expand its customer base to 60 million and increase the proportion of revenue generated outside France to nearly 60%. The bank is targeting over €8.5 billion in net income attributable to shareholders by 2028.
