18.08.202612:43:19UTC+00US Export Prices Fall at Fastest Pace Since 2023

US export prices fell 1.3% month-over-month in July 2026, following a downwardly revised 0.7% decline in June and defying market expectations for a 0.2% increase. This was the second consecutive monthly drop and the steepest decline since May 2023. The fall was driven by a 1.5% decrease in nonagricultural export prices, as lower prices for industrial supplies and materials (-4%)—reflecting declines in fuel, nonferrous metals, and chemicals—more than offset increases in capital goods (0.5%), consumer goods excluding automobiles (0.2%), and automotive products (0.7%). The rise in automotive products was the largest monthly gain since April 2025. Meanwhile, agricultural export prices rose 1%, marking a seventh consecutive monthly increase. On an annual basis, US export prices were up 8.2% in July.
